Bosco's Drum Lessons

A self thought drummer, percussionist and music teacher, originally from Goa – I began teaching drums in year 2000. I let myself take time to master the art of teaching before going into the field of teaching. The drum lessons initially were taugh to little children from the age of 10 onwards, depending completely on their capability .

As a music teacher, I strongly believe in learning notations, right hand and foot techniques to a wide variety of percussion instruments played in the right manner.

I have taught as many students in India and abroad.

A quick pointer:
To learn the right hand movement and foot techniques, you should learn it right the very first time. If you are misguided then it would mean wrong technique, getting tired while you are playing for long hours and unable to play certain beats or rolls.
Here is a quick Exercise:
Take both your sticks in your hands, now face it to the drum in an angle parallel to the snare drum and raise it approximately 5 inches high to get the right height to strike the stick with minimum force and for stability.

Now try the following simple exercise: R = right hand, L = Left Hand:

Now Strike; Left Left, Right Rigth - LL RR, LL RR, LL RR, LL RR, LL RR, LL RR, LL RR, LL RR –Now strike; Right Right, Left Left - RR LL, RR LL, RR LL, RR LL, RR LL, RR LL, RR LL, Try alternating these movements often and observe how your hands become more flexible. You should finally be able to play it @ 120 beats per Minute.

Playing the drums is not just about playing beats and rolls, but being the back bone of the band, supporting every instrument and keeping the band in time: these are the values you will learn at the beginning of your lessons. Although playing the drums is more interesting than just playing with band..... Creating rythms by yourself and jamming with your self can make drum playing more interesting.

The lessons

Do you want to play drums? Maybe you already play the drums, but maybe you just want to learn how to master drum playing from beginners to advance playing or you simply want to learn new beats, fills and solo ideas – Either ways, these powerful drum lessons are exactly what you need.

Why Learn with me?

1. There are secrets most drummers don’t want to share with you – the technique of how to play certain beats. Have you ever wondered how that drummer was able to play fast, effortlessly and you have been trying it for so long but you could not get it? Well that’s where Bos comes in, there is no beat, roll or time signature that is impossible to do, if he can do it, so can you. You will be guided in ways that use the minimum amount of physical strength, alternative ways of playing a beat that you were unable to play, but with the same feel and sound.

2. Experimentation:
When you feel you have learnt enough and ready to start playing professionally or for any kind of desire, you are not just going to learn and sit down doing nothing. You will be have the opportunity to jam and test your skills with experienced musicians. This is firstly a feeling of self satisfaction, to know your limits and further down pushing boundaries to achieving it with your hard work, time and most of all your passion.

3. Goals
When you begin the course we will firtly focus on your goal of drum playing, why do you want to play it? what type of music do you want to play? Rock, Raggae, Latin, Jazz ?
In this course; You will be offered the skills to progress youself and learn new stlyes and music without having to learn with a teacher again. But your main goal will be achieved and set as your base for effective drum playing.
